Situation: New & Old: A Look Back on Fandoms
Case & Point: 03.13.2k7

What's this? Wish is trying to start a community project? Why, yes - you did read that right.

Let's face it, guys. We all have fandoms. We have fandoms we loved when we were younger, and we have the fandoms we love now. Chances are they're pretty different.

And chances are you might have drawn fanart for them.

So I had this idea. Wouldn't it be fun to compare the fandoms? Wouldn't it be fun to match up the characters and draw them as each other?

So I was thinking, why not? Why not get more people involved so we can see what fandoms started it all, and what fandoms have been welcomed since then?

So if you want to join in, here's the not-so-confusing stats:

Take a fandom (or fandoms, as the case may be) that you loved as a child/when you first got into the fanmunity, and take the one that's your biggest love right now.

Make a list of characters you want to draw from your current fandom love. Try at least three, but there can really be as many as you want.

Match the characters up with the character from the original fandom they are most like. Try to be able to back this up so that it makes sense; after all, Sam from Danny Phantom as Shelley from JabberJaw just doesn't make much sense, does it? (And the genders don't have to match, either; for the one I'm doing, I matched Drago-sama from PPY with Magi Lune from Ferngully. xD)

Drawn the current fandom love characters as the characters you matched them with. This could just mean drawing them in their outfits, or if you want to you can even style their hair like the other character. It's up to you.

This part isn't really required or part of the project, but more of a just-for-fun thing. Do a second part of the pic (or incorporate it into the main one) where the characters from the original fandom(s) are dressed as the ones from the current fandom. It's up to you if you do this part, though. It prob'ly mainly depends on how many characters you're doing.

How you draw it is all up to you. You could do a big group pic, or seperate boxes, or whatever. You get full liberty for this part.

Also not required, but you might want to put your reasoing behind your matches in the description when you submit the pic. Just so you don't have to answer why you put Mr. Joe as Mr. Brown a thousand times.

Send me a note with "New & Old" as the subject with a link to the deviation, and I'll add you to this list.

There is currently no deadline. I know people have lives, and I don't even know how many people are gonna join in. So feel free to take your time!
